Recently, the Institut Catal\u00e0 del Peu, has signed an agreement of collaboration with Altra brand, expert in running sporty shoes, especially trail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As you will know, in Catalonia there is a great acceptance for this kind of running, the trail running. It also has a large number of good runners of this kind, who, some of them we have the pleasure of treating them in the Institut Catal\u00e0 del Peu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Altra, is a brand which is having a very good reception by trail runners. The Spanish headquarters of Altra brand is located in Barcelona. The worries for the two institutions have led us to create this collaboration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Altra shoes have special features and, this is the reason why we like them so much, beyond the amazing comfort which they offer. As the Altra brand describes, mentioning its special features, the difference of three are: the Footshape, Fit4Her technology and Balance Cushioning with absorption. In outline, the Footshape respects the shape of the foot and, particularly of toes, allowing them to expand in a natural way, making possible that the great toe is able to keep straight putting into practice the maximum stability and power to the footstep. The Fit4Her technology respects the shape of the female foot, which is usually narrower, with a higher instep and a longer arch. The Balance Cushioning with absorption is the reason why they are extraordinary with Footshape. All Altra shoes are made on a Balance Cushioning platform which allows that the heel and the front side of the foot are in the same distance to the floor. This fact allows like a natural help to an optimum alignment, promoting a better shape and encouraging a low impact landing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Institut Catal\u00e0 del Peu provides several specific technologies for the footstep study and the biomechanical reply to different materials of shoes. It joins together a team of podiatrists with many years\u2019 experience, as well as our Biomechanical Department of the Sporting Performance (Fitmetric), in order to study many important aspects of the runner for a brand like Altra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is a great determination to undertake this plan with Altra. We will be pleased to share the different tasks and results which will come up, helping technically the Altra brand, as well as to the sportsmen and sportswomen which use the mentioned brand.<\/p>\n\n\n
